Sometimes when I sew, it turns out well.
Other times it looks like the Texas chainsaw massacre.
Once upon a time I attempted to make some super cute stackable rings for my friend's baby shower. I didn't want to download the pattern. It seemed easy enough, but when I tried to turn the rings inside out it was a virtual black hole. I couldn't get it to turn inside out for the life of me. I had already sewed some ribbon on the fabric, so I quick stitched just the top and bottom pieces together for Owen. Molly ate the middle foam part that held them together.
This block is the first thing I made that wasn't a pillow. I'm not sure how to get it entirely square, but I can't seem to cut in a straight line either, no matter how many gadgets I get. There has to be a way to get those corners sewn together better, but I really don't have that long of an attention span.
I put this here so you would see my first hand stitching job. I've gotten a better grasp on it, but my first attempt was pretty abysmal. Owen, he does not mind it.
After blowing it on the block I wanted to make a ball without wasting fabric. I picked up some 50 cent felt and this one came together nicely. Since I have somewhat of a mental block when it comes to piecing so many fabrics together, the "beach ball" circle on the ends hid all of my mess ups.
Owen has his floor pillows that I store under the coffee table. I think they look kind of cute there.
You'll notice I measured wrong on this pillow and it has a huge gap. This was the second pillow I ever did. I wanted to keep it, but not on the couch where people might examine it. The floor seems a great place for it as it looks perfectly presentable from the front.
So there you have it. The good. The bad. The misfits.
